A routine traffic violation led to a drug arrest in Trigg County Thursday morning.
Kentucky State Trooper T.J. Williams pulled over 37-year-old Jason Scott Fite of Eugene OR, near the 65 mile marker of I-24 around 11:30 am. During the stop, a canine unit with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement alerted troopers, and they searched the vehicle. They found two sealed bags of marijuana weighing approximately 1/2 pound, 39 valium pills, and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. Fite was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
He is charged with operating on a suspended driver’s license, failure to produce and insurance card, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, illegal possession of a legend drug, trafficking marijuana over eight ounces, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. The investigation continues by Trooper Williams.
